Dutch Trader

I am Dutch contrarian value investor that runs a fictive mutual fund called TarPro Investment Fund (TPIF) on www.marketocracy.com
The fund seeks long-term growth of capital by investing primarily in companies with market capitalizations less than $250 million. Due to this sector's size and limited research coverage, there is more opportunity to find pricing inefficiencies. Therefore, the potential for higher returns, commensurate with a higher level of risk, is greater than for any other sector of the equity marketplace (domestic and international). The fund invests in stocks that are trading for less than the estimate of the company’s worth. My philosophy is Unloved, Underowned and Undervalued.

by Joshua Rosenbaum and Joshua Pearl

As an investor and amateur analyst I really would recommend this book. It took some while to learn it but it is practical and has workable model templates that gives you a better understanding of the methodologies. It takes you step-by-step on how to value companies using the most popular valuation methods currently used on Wall Street.

Book review Profiting from the World’s Economic Crisis by Bud ConradThe book is a must read for everyone who wants a clear understanding why the economic collapse could happen and happened and why it is far from over. Major problems we are dealing with now are federal budget deficit, trade deficit and health care. This will ultimately lead to the collapse of the dollar.

China Pharmaceutical Sector

The production value of China's pharmaceutical industry is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 22% from 2010 to 2019, according to a report issued by the Southern Medicine Economic Research Institute (SMERI).

The strong performance is attributed to the steady growth of China's economy, an aging population and increasing government investment in health care.

A key driver will be the Chinese government, which will spend a total of US$124.82 billion into health care reforms from 2009 to 2011.

China’s real estate market has just start growing

In China, consumers buying residential properties are required to put down 30 percent before taking out a mortgage. For a second home, the down payment is 50 percent, irrespective of their net worth. Home purchase is predicated on affordability.

Today, there are some 360 million urban residents in China. In the next three decades, the figure is expected to grow to 970 million. What China is trying to achieve is unique in history – to create urban space to more than 610 million people, within a single generation.

Irrational behaviour getting common in Chinese stocks?

Anytime you buy or sell a stock, you should be buying and selling irrational behavior. You should buy shares when they are irrationally cheap and sell them when they are irrationally expensive. Those are subjective concepts but at the end they work. Certainly in hindsight it's obvious when things are absurdly cheap or absurdly expensive.
